Aranbada Poetry House, Nigeria is a budding foundation for promoting African (Nigerian) creative writing with special consideration for the youth. It seeks to encourage creative enterprise by promoting and publishing creative works of young creative minds via its online platforms, and subsequently its poetry anthology/series “Aranbada Poetry Series”
Aranbada Poetry House, Nigeria was founded by T. G. ‘Yinminu, aka theWACKpoet and within its short existence, it has organised and hosted a poetry recital event, which was held in honour of Prof. Olu Obafemi. This event has now been re-branded as “Aranbada Poetry Festival (APF)”.
Initially, APF was referred to as “Words Up With Oluwatodimu (WUWO) but it was later re-branded due to the existence of another poetry brand “WordsUp411”. The first edition was themed against:
- Addiction to hard drugs and harmful substance etc.,
- Neo-Colonialism and
- Abused Westernisation.
The vision is to be an established foundation that promotes rekindling the fire of poetry, in achieving this it is in the road map to take this event on a yearly basis to all other geo-political zones in the federation with the University of Ilorin as the intellectual base.
Aranbad Poetry Festival is gradually working its way into becoming a world standard art event.
